To get an ECS Labourer card, you must complete two requirements. This program provides you with all the training and support you need to obtain your ECS Labourer Card.
Two Routes To Get Your Card
Route 1
This is for people who already have a JIB-approved electrical theory qualification such as C&G 2365, 2330, or 2360. A full list of qualifying courses can be found on the ECS website. In addition to the theory qualification, you also need to pass the ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment.
Route 2
If you don’t have a JIB-approved theory qualification you need to complete two steps.
- Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification: This qualification will not exempt you from taking the ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment.
- ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment: You will need to take this test unless you have completed an eligible CITB, CCNSG, or SPA health and safety course in the past 3 years.
Regardless of which route you take, you will also need to provide proof that you are working in the electrotechnical industry. There are various ways to show proof. If you need help understanding what documentation you need, this program will guide you.
