This Level 2 NVQ in Steel fixing is a nationally recognized vocational qualification for those working as steel fixers in the construction industry. This qualification is earned through on-site assessment, so you won’t need to attend classes or take time off work. There are no exams to pass. You will be assessed in a real-world environment, allowing you to demonstrate your skills and knowledge practically.
This qualification will enable you to:
- Demonstrate and recognize your skills, knowledge, and understanding of steel fixing.
- Gain recognition as a Skilled Worker within the construction industry.
- Become eligible for a Blue CSCS card.
Assessment Process:
Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge, and understanding against the standards set in the qualification. This qualification is competency-based, meaning you must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units. The assessment will be conducted through an e-portfolio system and is formed of two parts:
- Knowledge: You will complete a workbook to demonstrate your understanding of steel fixing principles and practices.
- Practical: You will gather evidence of your practical steel fixing skills on the job site and upload it to an e-portfolio system.
